HKU Has Developed Game Simultaneously as The Whole World

 

Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) is making an extraordinary activity. In the event called "Global Game Jam" (GGJ), which starts at the same time around the world and attenders will continue for 48 hours without complaint, game developers will come together to develop various games according to the theme.

THOUSAND OF GAMES HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED THROUGH THE WORLD WITH GGJ EVERY YEAR

In Global Game Jam (GGJ) in January 2017 more than 7000 games were developed in 48 countries over 700 locations in 95 countries.GGJ, which is organized all over the world every year, is organized only by Hasan Kalyoncu University and Zeugma Game Hub Game Team from Southeastern Anatolia region and they also participated this year. In the event, participants are expected to learn about the game sector and develop games for this sector. It is desired that the games that emerged at the end of the event will be supported by investors and with this support, the way of technology productivity in the gaming sector in our country will be paved. In addition, participants will be brought together with experts in the field to inform about the challenges and opportunities they will face in professional business life. In addition, demonstration of a number of professional and professional workshops in the workplace, demonstrating how competitors should develop their competencies, are among the goals of the event.

The GGJ's goal is to improve the talents of game developers and discover new technological tools and use them all together. As officials stated the GGJ is not a contest, it is an activity promoting cooperation and solidarity. During the event, relay are being broadcast on a system called "Twitch" to see what other centers are doing. At the end of the event, the games will be uploaded to the system.

"PARTICIPATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH INTENSIVE EFFORTS"

HKU Department of Computer Engineering Professor Dr. Veysi İşler made an opening speech in the event. İşler, who gave important information to the participants, stated that: "With this event, we started at the same time with the world, various games will be developed in 48 hours. Participants will continue to work with intensive effort. While game development applications for mobile continue at an increasing pace, PC and social media gaming applications follow this as well. With the development of games, which attract young entrepreneurs intensively in our country, important software specialists of the sector will work on developing games in different segments. Also, I would like to mention that the number of firms in the sector in Turkey in recent years is over 50 ".

"48 HOURS OF CHALLENGE AND TIRESOME IS EXPECTING THE PARTICIPANTS"

HKU Rector Prof. Tamer Yılmaz stated that "As an innovative entrepreneur and proactive university, we are now starting to put it more clearly. If you are innovative and entrepreneurial you need to improve these kinds of activities. We have various opportunities for our students to develop entrepreneurship. I encourage them to benefit from them. We have a serious interest in Industry 4.0. We continue to reveal that in every job we do. We will develop game together with the activity that we started here today. Last year, games were developed in very serious numbers. I think that the number of games developed this year will increase even more with various studies. Our university will work on this issue by giving serious importance to this. As of today, 48 hours of challenging and tiresome is waiting for participants. There is no doubt that very successful works will come out at the end of their work. I am already thankful for those contributed."
