Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) continues to support the students in all kinds of art activities in line with the slogan “One cannot become a university student by just entering the university”.
HKU, that supports all branches of art, continues to support the students’ theatre activities. The play entitled “Cocoons”, which was performed by the team named “HKÜ Theater Group” after intensive practices, received thumbs up from the audience.
KOZALAR, WHICH WAS WRITTEN BY ADALET AĞAOĞLU, MET THE AUDIENCE
The Theater Group, founded by HKU students, has performed various plays on stage since 2014, bringing together many important plays to theatre lovers. Finally, the team that performed the play named “Cocoons”, written by Adalet Ağaoğlu in 1971, made the audience laugh and think at the same time. The first play that the theatre company, which is followed by a great appreciation, professionally staged was a 20 minutes adaptation of “Akif Olmak” of a feature-length documentary named “Do not fear”. In addition, the group which staged the plays such as “Artiz Mektebi”, “Kadınlık Bizde Kalsın” and “Komşu Köyün Delisi”, made the audience experience pleasant moments with various sketches. The team performing the play at HKU Congress and Culture Center at first; performed the same game on the Onat Kutlar Stage for the second time in order to reach more masses and the one who missed the play.
“OUR COMPANY DID A GREAT JOB”
The team, who worked long hours and intensively, stated that they were prepared for the game professionally. The supervisor of the theatre company Res. Asst. Özgür Osman Demir, who supported the play of the team who stated that they made many changes in the play, made this statement about the play “Since 2014, we are doing important works as HKU Theater Company. In this process, our team, which has produced various plays, has performed plays that appeal to both children and adults. The last one of them is the “Cocoons”, which has a critical humorous structure. Our team, was prepared for the game for about six months and did a great job. I heartily congratulate them for their efforts. We are also grateful to our university, which gives us continuous support.”
