Dr. Deniz Telek, Faculty Member of the Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Faculty of Communication, Department of Visual Communication Design, received an important award at the awards ceremony of the Gaziantep Dize Film Festival organized by Gazikultur Inc., affiliated with the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.
DENIZ TELEK FROM HKU RECEIVED THE BEST FILM MUSIC AWARD WITH ANOUSH
The HKU Faculty of Communication continues to achieve significant successes in many fields. The HKU Faculty of Communication, which has received international and domestic awards and carries out projects, added another to its awards as Dr. Deniz Telek was honored with an award through his success at the Dize Film Festival held in Gaziantep. Telek received his award in the “Best Music” category for his music design for the film “Anoush”. Telek noted that the piece “Anush Knik” used in the film was composed by Hasmik Harutyunyan.

HKU Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Gul Rengin Kucukerdogan stated that as a faculty they carry out important works in many fields of art, and noted that as HKU they held the seventh edition of the Golden Baklava Film Academy International Student Film Festival, one of Turkey’s most prestigious film festivals, this year. She said: “We started the Golden Baklava Film Festival with domestic participation. Our festival has grown larger every day and has begun to make a name for itself in many countries around the world. The seventh edition of our festival, which we will hold this year, will take place as a major organization with the participation of 1,368 films from 98 countries. Our university, which sets high targets for itself in every field, maintains the same attitude in the field of cinema and raises the bar even higher each year. Not only in cinema, but this year we have also received an important award in film music, which is a part of cinema. The fact that Dr. Deniz Telek from our faculty was deemed worthy of the best film music award at the Dize Film Festival made us especially proud. I congratulate Telek, who was deemed worthy of this special award, and wish him continued success,” she said.

HKU Faculty of Communication, Department of Visual Communication Design Dr. Deniz Telek said: “As the Faculty of Communication, throughout the year we organize many art exhibitions, poster design contests, radio theatre, and various other activities. Throughout my career, I have been deemed worthy of various awards. Receiving an award at the Dize Film Festival, held for the first time this year, honored me greatly. I dedicate my award to the spirit of Onat Kutlar, the founder of Turkey’s first Cinematheque. I hope that with this award, the Cinematheque spirit will be revived in Gaziantep, where Turkey’s first Cinematheque was founded. I also dedicate my award, on the occasion of this news, to my university, my faculty, and my students,” he said.
