Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) climbed 25 places and was ranked among the “Top 5 Fastest Rising Universities” in the 2022-2023 Turkey rankings announced by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory, established within METU Informatics Institute to develop scientific methods for evaluating higher education institutions according to their academic achievements and to share the results with the public.
“A REFLECTION OF OUR ACADEMICS’ SCIENTIFIC WORK”
Stating that ranking systems give universities the opportunity to learn about their position and progress within the higher education ecosystem and review their education/research policies, Hasan Kalyoncu University Rector Prof. Dr. Turkay Dereli said: “As a young and dynamic foundation higher education institution that has drawn attention since its establishment with its student-focused educational approach, scientific productivity and application-oriented innovative projects, it is extremely gratifying that Hasan Kalyoncu University is rising day by day in respected ranking lists. The scientific publications by our academics in respected international journals last year increased by approximately 50% compared to the previous year, and the citations to these increased by 100%. Significant increases were achieved in other related indicators as well. If this upward momentum can be maintained, our university’s place in respected rankings can rise even further. We will continue to support our scientists’ projects more for this purpose. Our university’s rise of 25 places in the URAP 2022-2023 Turkey rankings with 585.99 points actually means the reflection, manifestation and certification of our researchers’ scientific work and successes in the rankings. I congratulate all our faculty and researchers who, with their qualified scientific work, enabled our university to rise 25 places in the URAP Turkey 2022-2023 ranking and be among the top 15 foundation universities, and I wish them continued success.”
