WITHIN-UNIVERSITY LATERAL TRANSFER BETWEEN PROGRAMS
(ADDITIONAL ARTICLE 1 – LATERAL TRANSFER BASED ON CENTRAL PLACEMENT SCORE)
For the 2025-2026 Spring Semester, Hasan Kalyoncu University will admit students through Lateral Transfer to its Associate Degree and Bachelor’s programs under Additional Article 1 of the “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Bachelor Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer.”
GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND APPLICATION RULES
- Lateral transfer cannot be made to the first or final semester of associate-degree programs based on the cumulative GPA.
- Transfer from open or distance education to formal education programs requires either a cumulative GPA of 80/100 or above, or a central placement score equal to or higher than that year’s minimum admission score for the target program.
- Higher education institutions located outside the Republic of Turkiye are evaluated as foreign higher education institutions.
- Lateral transfer cannot be made to the preparatory class, the first or last semester of associate-degree programs, or the first two and last two semesters of bachelor’s programs.
- Transfer from open/distance education to other open/distance programs is permitted.

ADDITIONAL ARTICLE 1 — LATERAL TRANSFER BASED ON CENTRAL PLACEMENT SCORE
Students who, in the year they were placed in their current higher-education program, met or exceeded the minimum admission score of the program they wish to transfer to may apply for lateral transfer under Additional Article 1, regardless of their current GPA. This route applies to both Associate Degree and Bachelor’s programs.
Special Requirements for Aviation-Related Programs: Programs such as Cabin Crew, Civil Air Transport Operations, and Aviation Management have additional health, criminal record and physical requirements. Applicants must hold a valid criminal record check, an aeromedical certificate from a DGCA-authorized center confirming fitness to fly, and meet appearance and language requirements (B1-level English for Cabin Crew). LATERAL TRANSFER TO EQUIVALENT ASSOCIATE-DEGREE PROGRAMS
Students currently enrolled in associate-degree programs may apply for lateral transfer to equivalent programs at the same level based on their cumulative GPA, in accordance with the relevant regulation. Applications are evaluated against the published quotas.
GENERAL PRINCIPLES
- Lateral transfer to the first or final semester of an associate-degree program based on cumulative GPA is not permitted.
- The applicant’s cumulative GPA must meet the minimum requirements set by the relevant academic board.
- Coursework and grades from the previous program will be evaluated for credit transfer; recognized grades are entered on the transcript and included in the cumulative GPA.
