The theatre play “Junk Food Neighborhood” (“Abur Cubur Mahallesi”), prepared by the Department of Primary School Teaching of the Faculty of Education at Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) within the scope of the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, was performed for children.

HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Turkay Dereli, HKU Vice Rectors including Prof. Dr. Gul Rengin Kucukerdogan, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Latife Ozaydin, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Kezban Bayramlar, faculty members, and students from Sehit Mehmet Polat Primary School, Yesilkent Primary School, and Yesilkent Secondary School attended the play held at the HKU Cultural and Congress Center.

Speaking at the opening of the program, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Latife Ozaydin said: “The light in the eyes of our children is the herald of the bright tomorrows of our country. As educators, we will continue to work with all our strength to ensure that they grow up with knowledge, love, and self-confidence.”

The children celebrated April 23rd with outdoor games, music events, and student club workshops organized on the HKU campus.
