According to the latest results released by SCImago, one of the most respected international university ranking indices, which evaluates universities across three core indicators, Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) climbed 29 places in the 2023 Turkey rankings.

In a list featuring 134 universities from Turkey, Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) continued its upward trajectory, ranking 8th in research and 24th overall. Among foundation universities, HKU placed 7th. After ranking 53rd in Turkey’s overall category in 2022, HKU climbed to 24th this year, advancing 29 places, while also moving up 940 places in the world rankings.

Noting that, in addition to the student-focused educational approach it has applied since its founding, HKU has drawn attention through its scientific productivity and the application-oriented, innovative projects it has carried out, becoming a young and dynamic foundation higher education institution, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Turkay Dereli said: “Our position in the SCImago ranking, which evaluates and classifies universities’ research performance, innovation outputs, and societal impact capacity both individually and holistically, has made us very pleased. By raising our scores in the research, innovation, and societal impact (social) categories even further, we firmly believe that we have a strong potential to enter the top 10 in Turkey and the top 1,000 worldwide.
