The Silk Road Gaziantep “Digital Design and Application” Social Entrepreneurship Centre (HKU Design), part of the Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Faculty of Communication, has successfully completed a “Digital Visibility Workshop” tailored to beneficiaries of the SEECO Project, equipping social entrepreneurs with skills in brand management, brand storytelling, photography, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and effective communication.
The five-day programme, held between 8 and 12 September, offered training on digital marketing strategies, brand storytelling and management, effective communication and photography, and content creation for social media. Through hands-on activities, participants enhanced their theoretical knowledge with practical skills for building and amplifying brands across digital platforms.
Technical visits incorporated into the workshop added further depth to the programme, allowing participants to explore the city and conduct fieldwork. Participants also visited the “Women’s Entrepreneurship Support Centre”, where they observed first-hand the centre’s projects, operations, and entrepreneur experiences. SEECO-supported initiatives were also examined on site.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, HKU Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan emphasised that the university’s mission is not limited to delivering academic knowledge; it is equally committed to nurturing entrepreneurs who meet the demands of the digital era — communicators capable of using social media effectively and creating responsible, high-quality content. Küçükerdoğan underlined that, through the competencies gained at the SEECO-supported workshop hosted by HKU Design Centre — particularly in brand management and digital marketing — participants would be able to make their projects and products more visible while also developing initiatives that generate social benefit.
Certificates were presented to the participants at the conclusion of the workshop. HKU Design Academy reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such entrepreneur-focused programmes that contribute to social entrepreneurship and digital visibility.
