Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Zeugma Game Technologies and Gamification Center (ZOOM) will hold an extraordinary event. “Global Game Jam” (GGJ), which starts all over the world at the same time and will produce games without sleeping for 48 hours, will be held for the first time this year with the cooperation of seven universities between January 31 and February 2, 2020.
COUNTDOWN FOR GGJ STARTED
Thousands of games are developed every year with Global Game Jam, the world’s largest and most comprehensive game development marathon. In Turkey; HKU, which moved the GGJ to Gaziantep after Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, aims to pave the way for technology productivity in the gaming industry.
In the event, which has been held under Gaziantep Hasan Kalyoncu University since 2018 and hosted by HKU again this year, game developers will come together and develop various games according to the theme to be determined. In the event, where creativity, solidarity and cooperation are at the forefront, the participants will produce innovative games as teams. Participants will learn about how they should develop their competencies in the event, in which a few games that professionals make and use in their business life will be shown practically. Game developers will also have the opportunity to meet with experts from the game industry at the GGJ, which will be held between January 31 and February 2, 2020, and information content about the game industry will take place. Games produced with Global Game Jam, a universal event starting at the same time with the whole world, will be supported.

Global Game Jam, which is open to participants from different fields with different expertise and from all kinds of experience levels, from professional game developers to educators, artists to game designers; Anyone with software, story-editing, sound, graphics and modeling skills will be able to participate.
