
Under the auspices of the Women and Family Practice and Research Center (KADMER) at Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), a theater play titled ‘Ne Olur ki?’ was presented at the HKU Cine Amphitheater as part of the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’ on November 25.
The play, written and directed by Dr. Mehmet Fatih Eminoğlu, a faculty member of the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at HKU, and performed by the Living with Plays Theater Student Society, was attended by HKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan, KADMER Director Dr. Zeynep Özgüner, along with students and academics.
Speaking before the staging of the play, Dr. Zeynep Özgüner, the Director of KADMER at HKU, emphasized that violence against women is a global phenomenon with destructive effects, stating, ‘Violence against women is a common problem for societies. Therefore, every effort made and every improvement achieved represents a global endeavor for all women worldwide. As KADMER, with our mission and sensitivity against all forms of violence, we attach importance to raising awareness about the perception of violence and making it visible.’
The program, aimed at creating awareness in the fight against violence against women, concluded with an evaluation of the play’s theme by the audience after its performance.
