In the seminar program titled ‘Career Advice for Future Lawyers’ organized by the Faculty of Law at Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), Av. Bahar Selma Vicdan, Chief Legal and Compliance Advisor at Kalyon Energy, shared her experiences with the students.
The program, held at the HKU Law Amphitheater, was attended by HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Lütfi Yola, Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Enver Bozkurt, Vice Dean Dr. Assistant Professor Veysel Görücü, faculty members, and students.
Av. Bahar Selma Vicdan emphasized the importance of young lawyers effectively shaping their careers and highlighted the need for lawyers to be versatile by sharing examples from her own career journey: ‘I love my job. I believe being a lawyer adds a unique vision to individuals. I have always enjoyed law topics, research, and hard work. Law is a very honorable profession; please believe in it and always enjoy your work. Don’t get caught up in clichés because we are the ones who will develop ourselves, our country, and our world.’
Since 2018, Av. Bahar Selma Vicdan has been serving as the Chief Legal and Compliance Advisor at Kalyon Holding, where she shared detailed information with the students about her experiences gained from domestic and international training, the professional value of law, the importance of law, the opportunities it presents, and the company’s compliance advisory department.
At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. Enver Bozkurt, Dean of the Faculty of Law at HKU, presented a plaque to Av. Bahar Selma Vicdan, Chief Legal and Compliance Advisor at Kalyon Energy.
