The 3rd International Nursing Care and Research Congress (INCARE 2026), organised by the Department of Nursing at Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Faculty of Health Sciences under the theme “Care Empowered by Technology, Enriched by Humanity”, was held at the HKU Congress and Culture Centre with the participation of HKU academics, invited researchers from various countries, healthcare professionals and students.
NURSING IS A PROFESSION THAT BRINGS SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE TOGETHER WITH THE HUMAN TOUCH
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Prof. Dr Kezban Yiğiter, Dean of HKU Faculty of Health Sciences, highlighted the importance of continuity in scientific congresses and said, “It is extremely valuable that INCARE has now become an established scientific gathering. Nursing is a discipline that brings evidence-based practice together with the human touch and has an artistic dimension alongside its scientific foundations. No matter how rapidly technology advances, we believe that people must always remain at the heart of care. I believe this congress will contribute to achieving a strong balance between the scientific and human dimensions of nursing and will pave the way for new research, academic collaborations and joint projects.”
WE ARE EXCITED TO CARRY OUR SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE INTO THE FUTURE
Congress Chair Prof. Dr Ayla Yava drew attention to the scientific legacy that INCARE has developed over the years, saying, “We began this scientific journey in 2019 on the Hasan Kalyoncu University campus and continued it with our second congress, held in Ankara in 2022. At that meeting, we discussed the implications of nursing research for healthcare services, the future of care and international career opportunities. Each congress builds on the knowledge and experience of the one before it and creates new value. Today, at our third gathering, we are excited to carry the scientific legacy we have inherited into the future. Our greatest hope is for the INCARE Congress to become a strong scientific tradition that contributes to nursing science at both national and international levels, inspires new research and lays the foundations for lasting collaborations.”
121 SCIENTIFIC PAPERS TO BE PRESENTED AT THE CONGRESS
A total of 121 scientific papers will be presented over the course of the three-day congress, with the participation of national and international scholars, including Congress Honorary Chair Prof. Katalin Papp. Topics including the use of artificial intelligence in nursing education, digital health technologies, innovative approaches to care and the future of nursing care will be addressed through conferences, panels and scientific sessions. The congress aims to enhance the exchange of scientific knowledge and contribute to the development of new academic collaborations in the field of nursing.
