HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, who met with the teams that reached the finals and received up-to-date information about the projects, said: “TEKNOFEST is a very important platform that proves our young people have great potential in science and technology and enables them to turn their innovative ideas into projects and bring them to life. This year, 1,508 of our students applied to TEKNOFEST with projects. This is truly a very important number. Almost one in every four of our associate degree and undergraduate students submits a project application. Our Scientific Research Projects (BAP) unit also provides various forms of support to TEKNOFEST projects according to their R&D maturity levels. We provide material and prototyping support to the teams participating in the final stage. At HKU, we strive to open the way for our young talents. We design all our processes and programmes, primarily education, research and social responsibility, in line with our state’s policies and strategies on science, industry, technology, culture and arts, and aim to support our state’s strategic goals in these processes. It truly makes us happy that our students’ motivation, interest and success in participating in scientific and technological competitions and platforms such as TÜBİTAK, TEKNOFEST and the like are at a high level. I sincerely congratulate all our students, the administrators who support them, our academics, our advisors and our Technology Transfer Office who contributed to this success, and I wish them success in the final competitions,” he said.
