At the Renewable Energy Technologies Meeting, organised by Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) in cooperation with Kalyon Solar Energy Technologies Inc. (Kalyon PV), OSB TEKNOKENT and the HKU Technology Transfer Office (KALİTTO), researchers, practitioners and funders working on projects in related fields came together at Hasan Kalyoncu University to discuss the preparation of roadmaps for renewable energy, and solar energy technologies in particular, and the future of related technologies.
The programme held at Hasan Kalyoncu University was attended by HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Daim, Director of the Technology Management PhD Programme at Portland State University, Dr. Peter Fath, Chief Technology Officer of Kalyon PV, Dr. Fırat Es, Director of the Kalyon PV R&D Centre, Prof. Dr. Necip Fazıl Yılmaz, Member of the HKU Board of Trustees, HKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Lütfi Yola, and faculty members and researchers from HKU and from different universities and technoparks in Türkiye.
Speaking at the opening, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli said, “The war between Russia and Ukraine has once again clearly shown that energy, energy resources, owning energy resources, the optimisation of resources and energy diplomacy are of vital importance not only for profitability but also for the survival of states. Like everyone here, we know the importance and value of energy, renewable energy and solar energy. Renewable energy technologies are one of HKU’s most important research areas. Today we have come together here to answer the questions ‘which projects can we develop’, ‘which innovations can we make’ and ‘how can we improve the quality of our processes together’, and to hold an effective brainstorming session. I would also like to thank very much the participants from different universities in our country who honoured this important meeting early in the morning on the first working day of the week, despite the snow and cold weather. I wish for a productive and fruitful brainstorming session and for the foundations of qualified project collaborations to be laid.”
Later in the programme, Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Daim, Faculty Member at Portland State University, gave a presentation on “Technology Roadmap in Renewable Energy, Trends in the World and Türkiye”. Kalyon PV CTO Dr. Peter Fath informed the participants about “The Role of Kalyon PV in the Transition to Renewable Energy in Türkiye and Abroad”. Dr. Fırat Es, Director of the Kalyon PV R&D Centre, shared Kalyon PV’s R&D Vision with the participants. After the presentations, one-to-one project meetings were held.
