In the programme titled “Being a Woman in the Media”, organised by the Hasan Kalyoncu University Continuing Education Application and Research Centre (HKU-SEM) and the Young Financiers Student Club, ATV Main News Anchor Nihan Günay shared the dynamics of being a woman in the media sector with students.
The programme, held at the Law Amphitheatre and moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Eminoğlu, a faculty member in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at the HKU Faculty of Communication, was attended by HKU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan, HKU-SEM Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Sema Mercanoğlu Erin, Women and Family Application and Research Centre Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özgüner, academics and students.
ATV Main News Anchor Nihan Günay described the difficulties she has faced since her first day in the journalism profession and the experience she has gained along the way, her career journey leading to presenting the main news, the prejudices she has encountered in the sector and the place of women journalists in the media, and answered students’ questions.
At the end of the programme, HKU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan presented a certificate of appreciation to ATV Main News Anchor Nihan Günay.
