The protocol signing ceremony of the project, held in the HKU Rectorate Senate Hall, was attended by HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, Silk Road Development Agency Secretary General Ahmet Paksu, HKU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Lütfi Yola and Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan, and Technology Transfer Office Coordinator Cengiz Helvacıkara.

Within the scope of the project, the Design Centre to be established within the HKU Faculty of Communication aims to equip the relevant individuals with the knowledge and skills needed in digitally focused sectors. Accordingly, training is planned to be provided to vulnerable groups, particularly women, young people aged 18-29 and people with disabilities, in subjects such as “Digital Advertising Design and Marketing”, “Film Production and Direction”, “Advertising Copywriting”, “Content Creation and Management on Social Media” and “Social Entrepreneurship”.

Speaking at the protocol signing ceremony, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli stated that they constantly try to develop new projects on the changing needs of society and digital transformation processes, and said: “In this respect, our units also propose pioneering projects in the field of social responsibility. This project of ours, supported within the scope of SEECO, will offer an important opportunity especially for women, young people and people with disabilities who wish to develop themselves in the relevant sectors in a rapidly digitalising world. By taking part in this project, they will be able to acquire the knowledge and skills that digitalisation requires. We will continue to take every step that will accelerate regional development and contribute to the progress of our country. We thank everyone who contributed to this project and all the institutions and organisations that supported it, above all the Silk Road Development Agency.”
