The İpekyolu Gaziantep “Digital Design and Application” Social Entrepreneurship Centre (HKU Design), within the Faculty of Communication of Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), successfully completed the “Digital Visibility Workshop” organised especially for SEECO Project beneficiaries, equipping social entrepreneurs with skills in brand management, brand story design, photography, digital marketing, entrepreneurship and effective communication.
In the five-day programme held on 8–12 September, participants were trained in topics such as digital marketing strategies, creating a brand story and brand management, effective communication and photography, and content creation on social media. Through practical work, in addition to theoretical knowledge, the entrepreneurs developed skills for building a brand on digital platforms and making that brand visible.
The technical trips made as part of the workshop both added value to the programme and enabled participants to get to know the city better and carry out fieldwork in it. Participants also visited the ‘Women’s Entrepreneurship Support Centre’ and observed the centre’s projects, operations and the experiences of entrepreneurs first-hand. The work carried out in SEECO-supported projects was examined on site.
Speaking at the closing event of the programme, HKU Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan stated that the university’s aim is not only to provide academic knowledge but to raise entrepreneurs who are suited to the requirements of the digital age, can communicate effectively, use social media well and produce the right content on social media. Küçükerdoğan underlined that, with the competencies gained in areas such as brand management and digital marketing, the participants of the workshop, held at the HKU Design Centre with SEECO support, will both make their own projects and products more visible and be able to undertake projects that will provide social benefit.
Certificates were presented to the participants at the end of the workshop. It was emphasised that HKU Design Academy will continue to contribute to social entrepreneurship and digital visibility through such entrepreneur-oriented activities.
