Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) held its 2024 External Advisory Board Meeting, drawing strong participation from public institutions, industry leaders and academic partners. The board was established to evolve HKU’s education, research, community engagement and quality processes sustainably through stakeholder input.

The meeting, held at the HKU Law School Auditorium, brought together HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Turkay Dereli, SANKO University Rector Prof. Dr. Guner Dagli, Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University Rector Prof. Dr. Sehmuz Demir, and Bayburt Deputy Governor and HKU Law alumnus Yusuf Beran Vuran. Attendees also included Sahinbey Deputy Mayor Sait Sahin, Gaziantep Chamber of Industry President Adnan Unverdi, Gaziantep Commodity Exchange President Mehmet Akinci, Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Association Deputy Secretary General Serdar Hasan Aydogan, Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone Board Member Mehmet Ozmen, and Family and Social Services Branch Manager Emin Karadeniz.

Provincial leadership representation included ISKUR Gaziantep Provincial Director Aytekin Dogan, Provincial National Education Director Dr. Erdal Kilinc, AFAD Provincial Director Mahmut Coskun, TSE Regional Director Mehmet Genc, KOSGEB Provincial Director Dr. Muhammed Paksoy, TURKSTAT Regional Director Tolga Demirer, Industry and Technology Provincial Director Mustafa Tasdemir, Deputy Provincial Health Director Dr. Mustafa Yildiz, Deputy Provincial Environment Director Hasan Kilyar, Deputy SGK Provincial Director Yusuf Unlu, Silk Road Development Agency Unit Head Ozgur Gurgah, and Youth and Sports Provincial Authorized Manager Fatos Toygun. They were joined by GIBTU Quality Unit Officer Asst. Prof. Dr. Selen Yucesoy Kahraman, Provincial National Education Branch Manager Bedriye Soku, AFAD Branch Manager Erol Aydin, ISKUR Job and Career Counselor Bahar Akis, SANKO University Quality Unit Officer Aylin Sonmezoglu, and members of the HKU Quality Commission.

Following presentations on HKU’s strategic plan, current standing and forward-looking goals, stakeholders shared recommendations and assessments to strengthen the university’s education, research, community service and quality processes.
