Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), founded in 2008 as the first foundation university of Gaziantep and the region, continues to grow with the new faculties, departments and programmes it has opened. Placing emphasis on education, teaching and research activities, HKU has opened the associate degree programmes “Civil Air Transport Management”, “Cyber Security” and “Artificial Intelligence Operator” within the Vocational School, and the undergraduate programme “Aviation Management” within the Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences, for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Stating that the newly opened departments are an indication of HKU’s mission of educating qualified and well-equipped individuals for education and the business world, Acting Rector of HKU Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan said: “With its historical and cultural riches, its industry and its commerce, Gaziantep is one of the leading cities of our country. In this dynamic and developing city, it is a great source of happiness for us that our university is growing and developing at the same pace. The city’s innovative and entrepreneurial spirit is in perfect harmony with our university’s vision. With the newly opened ‘Civil Air Transport Management’, ‘Cyber Security’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence Operator’ associate degree programmes and the ‘Aviation Management’ undergraduate programme, we aim to add new value to Gaziantep and our country.”

Underlining that HKU cares about preparing its students not only for today’s needs but also for tomorrow’s, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan said: “We are working with all our strength to give our students not just a diploma, but the equipment to take a solid step into the future. Our students studying in the ‘Cyber Security Programme’ will be able to be employed in a wide range of places such as ministries, banks, technology companies, defence industry organisations and international digital platforms. Likewise, our graduates of the ‘Civil Air Transport Management Programme’ will be able to work at airports, private airlines and ground handling companies, and, by completing their undergraduate studies through the vertical transfer exam (DGS), will also have the opportunity to build a career in the public sector. Graduates of the ‘Artificial Intelligence Operator’ Programme will actively contribute to digital transformation processes, particularly by working in areas such as the installation of AI-supported automation systems, data processing procedures and the operation of intelligent software. Graduates of ‘Aviation Management’ will be able to build careers in management and operations in every sector, from airlines to airport operators, from ground handling firms to logistics and air cargo companies. All four of the programmes opened aim to educate qualified and well-equipped individuals who keep pace with the dynamics of our age. I wish our new students who will join our university every success in advance, and I say welcome to the HKU family.”
