The 2024 Graduation Ceremony of Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) was held at the university’s Performance and Arts Centre, which has a capacity of 3,000 people. The ceremony was attended by Haluk Kalyoncu, Deputy Chairman of the HKU Board of Trustees, as well as Hakan Aslansoy, Deputy Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.
The graduation ceremony, at which one thousand seven hundred and seven students received their diplomas, was also broadcast live on the university’s official social media accounts.
Addressing the students at the graduation ceremony, Haluk Kalyoncu, Deputy Chairman of the HKU Board of Trustees, said: “To date we have produced more than 18,000 graduates, and 55% of our graduates are scholarship students. This year, we are sending off another 1,707 young people to their dreams and their tomorrows. You, who are graduating today, will be our managers, software developers, lawyers, judges, prosecutors, scientists, educators and colleagues of the future. We believe you will be the best in your fields, and I sincerely believe you will write success stories. While writing these success stories, we are also confident that you will uphold virtue, your family, and your national and spiritual values. As Cemil Meriç expressed in his book ‘Bu Ülke’, you will embrace our future as successful generations with a sense of history, a sense of identity and a sense of nationhood.”
HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli said: “I sincerely congratulate all our graduates and their families. As members of the HKU family, in every corner of the world, with your talents, your knowledge, and your unshakeable refinement and values shaped by ethical and moral principles, each of you will light up every place you go and add value to every place you go. I would like you to know that we are certain that, while performing your work in the best possible way with your knowledge, your skills and what you have learned, you will always put serving the homeland and humanity above everything else.”
1,707 STUDENTS THREW THEIR CAPS
Following the speeches, certificates of achievement and awards were presented to the top three students at Hasan Kalyoncu University, Dilber Yaren Polat, Neslihan Karayılan and Sude Kıtlık, by Haluk Kalyoncu, Deputy Chairman of the HKU Board of Trustees, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli and Hakan Aslansoy, Deputy Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.
