Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), with an academic from every department, met students at the “Career Days” event organised by Erdem College and provided guidance on career choice and planning for the future.
Commenting on the “Career Days” event organised by Erdem College, Hasan Kalyoncu University Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli emphasised the importance of young people accessing accurate information and knowing themselves when planning their careers, and said: “We see it as a responsibility to guide our young people so that they can reach their dreams and to share our experience. Events such as career days are extremely valuable in shedding light on our students’ future. As Hasan Kalyoncu University, we are very happy to meet the students of Erdem College.”
Touching on the psychological and sociological factors to be considered in career planning, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayaz of the HKU Department of Guidance and Psychological Counselling said: “In career planning, it is very important to take into account not only individual factors such as ability, interest and personality traits but also family, socio-economic level and social influences. In addition, choosing career information sources correctly and accessing up-to-date and reliable information can guide young people on their career journey.”
During the two-day event, the academics who met the students gave information about university life, the future of professions and career opportunities, and answered the students’ questions.
