Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), which continues to take part in various events in many provinces of Türkiye, organised an “Exam Anxiety and Motivation Seminar” in Diyarbakır. The programme, held at the Diyarbakır Sezai Karakoç Cultural Centre, was attended by Advisor to the Board of Trustees of Hasan Kalyoncu University Dr. Songül Kalyoncu, Provincial Director of National Education Murat Küçükali, students, parents and guidance counsellors.

In the seminar, at which HKU Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dinç, a clinical psychologist, was the speaker, the topic “Exam Anxiety and Motivation” was covered for students, and “Narrative Therapy with Children” for Guidance and Psychological Counselling teachers.

DO NOT STOP STRIVING

Mehmet Dinç, who made important statements about exam motivation at the event in which students took part in large numbers in the first part, addressed the Guidance and Psychological Counselling teachers working in Diyarbakır in the second part of the seminar.

Addressing the students, Mehmet Dinç said, “Friends, do not stop fighting in everything until the last minute. In the exam to be held in the coming period, keep fighting by doing your best until the last minute. If you say ‘It won’t happen, I can’t do it, I won’t succeed, nothing will come of me, I am incapable’, that becomes your fate. If you say ‘I will do it, I will succeed’, that also becomes your fate. Using time productively is very important. Another concept as important as time is truly wanting something. If you free yourself from all excuses, adapt to your exam and truly want to win this exam, you will be the ones who succeed. Yes, the exam is very important, but it is definitely not the end of the world. Even if your exam does not go well, never let this be an obstacle to reaching your goal. Strive until you reach your goal, stay away from negative thoughts and negative people, and focus on success. The coronavirus taught us very important things. For example, that we must stay away from people if they have the virus. As in this example, during the exam period you need to stay away from friends who will harm you, who are unenthusiastic and lazy.”
