Students of the Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Faculty of Communication will soon bring the radio play “The Flight of the Lindberghs”, written by Bertolt Brecht and telling the story of the first aircraft crossing of the ocean, to listeners on HKU Radio 106.8.
HKU Radio, which has offered listeners programmes with rich content in many fields since the day it began broadcasting, will this time meet its audience with a “Radio Play”. While Assist. Prof. Dr Deniz Telek of the HKU Faculty of Communication serves as project adviser for the radio play, Engincan Paksoy, a student of the Faculty of Communication, will direct it.
HKU Rector Prof. Dr Türkay Dereli, who said that the Faculty of Communication has carried out many innovative projects, particularly in recent years, and has made important contributions to HKU Radio, congratulated the whole team for their support of the radio play.
We Are Creating a Beautiful Project That Will Be Remembered for Many Years
Stating that they want to bring the programme to listeners as soon as possible, Assist. Prof. Dr Deniz Telek of the HKU Faculty of Communication said: “Many years ago I wanted to adapt Bertolt Brecht’s radio didactic play ‘The Flight of the Lindberghs’ for the stage. But because of the conditions at the time, this did not happen. Today we have realised this dream with my students at HKU. I am also very happy that it was produced as a radio play, as in the original. I congratulate the whole team, above all the play’s director Engincan Paksoy. They have created a beautiful work that will be remembered for many years. I hope our valued listeners will enjoy this lovely play about the first aircraft crossing of the ocean.”
