Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Telek of the Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Communication, Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), received an important award at the award ceremony of the Gaziantep Dize Film Festival, organised by Gazikültür A.Ş., which is affiliated with Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.
DENİZ TELEK OF HKU WON THE BEST FILM MUSIC AWARD WITH ANOUSH
The HKU Faculty of Communication continues to achieve significant success in many fields. The faculty, which has won international and national awards and carries out projects, added another award to its list when Dr. Deniz Telek was honoured at the Dize Film Festival held in Gaziantep. Telek received the award in the “Best Music” category for the music design of the film “Anoush”. Telek noted that the piece “Anush Knik” used in the film was composed by Hasmik Harutyunyan.

Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan, Dean of the HKU Faculty of Communication, said that the faculty carries out important work in many areas of the arts, and that HKU is holding the seventh Golden Baklava Film Academy International Student Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film festivals in Turkey, this year: “We started the Golden Baklava Film Festival with domestic participation. Our festival has grown bigger every day and has begun to resonate in many countries around the world. Our festival, whose seventh edition we will hold this year, will take place as a major event with 1,368 films from 98 countries. Our university, which sets high goals for itself in every field, maintains the same attitude in cinema as well and raises its bar higher every year. This year we received an important award not only in cinema but also in film music, which is a part of cinema. We are also proud that Dr. Deniz Telek from our faculty was deemed worthy of the best film music award at the Dize Film Festival. I congratulate Telek, who was found worthy of this special award, and wish him continued success.”

Dr. Deniz Telek of the Department of Visual Communication Design, HKU Faculty of Communication, said: “As the Faculty of Communication, we carry out various activities throughout the year such as art exhibitions, poster design competitions and radio theatre. I have been deemed worthy of various awards throughout my career. Receiving an award at the Dize Film Festival, held for the first time this year, has honoured me greatly. I dedicate the award to the spirit of Onat Kutlar, the founder of Turkey’s first Cinematheque. I hope that, with this award, the spirit of the Cinematheque will be revived in Gaziantep, where Turkey’s first Cinematheque was founded. I also dedicate my award, through this news, to my university, my faculty and my students.”
