THE BARRIER-FREE PROGRAMME BADGE WILL BE VALID FOR 3 YEARS
HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli stated that Hasan Kalyoncu University defines accessibility as everyone being able to reach and use any place and any service they wish, independently and safely, and said: “Thanks to the cooperation and coordinated work carried out by our University’s Barrier-Free Unit Coordination Office with all faculties, vocational schools and other academic and administrative units, making our University and the programmes our students attend accessible for our students with disabilities, both at entry to higher education and throughout their studies, has always been our priority. As a university, we value all our students’ access to higher education, and we strive to develop encouraging activities and projects to offer our students with disabilities a barrier-free education and teaching environment and to enable their greater participation in social and cultural activities. The ‘Barrier-Free Programme Badge’, valid for three years, has been awarded to the programmes of the Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Education, which make their programmes accessible to different disability groups. I congratulate our applying faculties and programmes for their sensitivity and efforts. I thank all academic and administrative staff who contributed to receiving the barrier-free programme badge. I hope that all awards to be given will encourage many other fine efforts and collaborations.”
