Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) took its place at the NAFSA 2026 International Education Conference and Expo held in the US state of Florida. Representing Turkish higher education under the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion, HKU established new academic collaborations in the fields of artificial intelligence, global internship networks and micro-credential programmes.

Within the scope of the University’s goals of internationalisation and becoming an education hub in the region, bilateral collaboration processes were carried out with leading higher education institutions from South Korea, Spain, Italy, Central European countries, the United Kingdom and the USA. In addition, during the meetings, joint curricula and certification processes in artificial intelligence technologies and sector-specific micro-credential programmes were discussed with Purdue University.

We Offer Our Students Global Employment and Internship Opportunities

Commenting on the meetings at the expo, Acting Rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan said: “As Hasan Kalyoncu University, we closely follow global education dynamics and develop our campus ecosystem accordingly. As in previous years, this year we again represented our country and our university at NAFSA. This time, going beyond traditional collaboration models, we built institutional bridges with the world’s leading internship placement organisations that will enable our students to gain global work experience before graduation. One of the most important outcomes of our meetings in Orlando was the high-level discussion we held with Purdue University focused on artificial intelligence and micro-credentials. With these joint curriculum and certification steps, we aim to bring world-standard education trends to our campus. We have begun our work to quickly turn the bilateral meetings held at the expo into concrete academic protocols. At HKU, internationalisation is among our priority strategies.”
