The Ministry of Youth and Sports, General Directorate of Youth Services, launched the University Student Societies Cooperation and Support (ÜNİDES) Programme to support university student societies. Under this programme, 13 projects prepared by the student societies operating under the Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Department of Health, Culture and Sports were accepted and entitled to receive support. With these results, Hasan Kalyoncu University ranked among the universities entitled to receive the most support under ÜNİDES and came fourth among foundation universities.
At the iftar dinner attended by HKU Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Lütfi Yola, Dean of Students Asst. Prof. Dr. Özgür Osman Demir, HKU Secretary General Ümit Şahnaoğlu, Aylin Filiz, Director of the Health, Culture and Sports Department (SKS), and the HKU Student Society Advisors, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli made a brief statement on the matter. Noting that the acceptance of student societies’ projects on regional, national and international platforms is an important indicator of the University’s academic and social achievements, he said: “We value our student societies and their achievements. We sincerely believe that, building on their knowledge, talents and hobbies, our students can make great contributions to their own careers, to society and to our University through their activities in student societies, and we encourage all our students to be active in them. We were also delighted by the results that our students, who have achieved great success in the TEKNOFEST competitions and the TÜBİTAK 2209 projects, obtained in the Ministry of Youth and Sports ÜNİDES programme. We congratulate our student societies, which reflect HKU’s innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, their advisors and everyone who contributed to this success, and we wish them continued success.
