With the start of the 2022 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) process, activities by high school students preparing for university to get to know the university ecosystem, faculties and departments in order to make the right choices are gaining pace, and in this process Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) is becoming the centre of young people’s attention with its modern campus and contemporary approach to education, teaching and research.
The First Visitors of 2022 Were Students of Private Suat Albayram Anatolian High School
Students of Private Suat Albayram Anatolian High School, who dream of going to university, took a mock exam in the amphitheatres of Hasan Kalyoncu University before the YKS to be held on 18-19 June. After the exam, the students toured the HKU Campus, saw the departments on site and received information from academics who are experts in their fields.
We Produce Experienced Graduates, Not New Ones
After the campus tour, the students were given information about Hasan Kalyoncu University’s academic programmes, educational facilities, international education partnerships, scholarship options and campus facilities. Wishing success to all candidates who will take the university exam, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, HKU Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Güzelbey said, “According to the figures announced by the Presidency Human Resources Office, our university’s graduates are among the top ten universities whose graduates are employed fastest. We applied to TEKNOFEST, the world’s largest aviation, space and technology festival, last year in record numbers and ranked first among foundation universities. Our university achieved a great success by ranking third among foundation universities in Türkiye in the GreenMetric World University Rankings, which evaluate world universities in the areas of environmental awareness, energy, waste, transport management and sustainability. This year our occupancy rate has approached one hundred per cent. Our scholarship rates are also very high. I recommend that all our prospective students in Gaziantep who will take the exam visit our university and, in particular, get information from our academics in the departments they would like to choose. If you choose our Department of Mechanical Engineering, I would like to say that during your four years of study you will receive your basic education in the first year. For the remaining three years, we will do projects in a significant part of your courses. Therefore, when you graduate from our university, you will graduate not as a new graduate but as a mechanical engineer with three years of experience.”
