Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) is continuing its preparations for TEKNOFEST 2022 at full speed. Producing ambitious projects in every category, HKU has achieved another important result by reaching the finals of the TEKNOFEST 2022 “Agricultural Unmanned Ground Vehicle” category.
The vehicle designed by the team of students from the HKU Vocational School’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technologies and Operation programme has qualified to compete in the final to be held in Ordu.
WE WORK TO PRODUCE PROJECTS THAT ARE BENEFICIAL FOR OUR COUNTRY AND HUMANITY
Speaking about the features of the vehicle, Enes Özen, Lecturer at the HKU Vocational School’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technologies and Operation programme and the team’s advisor, said: “As the foundation university with the highest number of TEKNOFEST applications, we are representing our university this year with the most ambitious projects and studies, and we are trying to bring to life projects that are beneficial for our country and humanity. In the Agricultural Unmanned Ground Vehicle category, too, we reached the final by developing a vehicle with a 6X6 walking system, a robotic arm, imaging systems and a spraying mechanism. The targets set in this category were to produce an effective vehicle capable of moving on the competition course, overcoming obstacles and moving on sloping terrain, and we achieved this. In addition, the vehicle we produced is capable of applying pesticide to harmful plants detected by the imaging system. This is an extremely useful and necessary function for sustainable agricultural activities. Our students put a great deal of effort into the project. I congratulate them on their diligent and meticulous work and wish them continued success.”
