At the seminar on “Metaverse, NFT and Games”, organised in cooperation with the Department of Software Engineering and the Department of Computer Engineering of Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), Prof. Dr. Veysi İşler, who is notable for his national projects in developing industrial simulation systems, drew attention to the fact that the Metaverse will bring change and transformation in many areas of life.

Before the seminar, which discussed the beginnings of Metaverse, NFT and game development processes, what is happening today and what needs to be done in the future, Prof. Dr. Atilla Elçi, faculty member of the Department of Software Engineering, gave a talk on data security.

Change and Transformation Will Take Place in Many Areas with the Metaverse

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Veysi İşler, emphasising that in the game development sector the success of entrepreneurs’ first game makes it easier to find investors for subsequent ventures, said: “Türkiye has a strong and important place in the growing global games market. The CPU was not sufficient to render the graphics in games. In addition to the CPU, special processors emerged. In this way, large markets formed and serious revenues were generated. As CPUs developed, big games began to find their place in the market. The Metaverse is the technology that enables one to enter the virtual world and find living space there. Thanks to the Metaverse, change and transformation can take place in many areas. Fields such as action, adventure and sports appeal to the game industry. Making a computer game is not as easy as it is thought to be. It is necessary to engage participants instantly with real-time applications. For this reason, efforts are made to produce realistic games. Thousands of studios produce games in Türkiye. In addition, despite the pandemic, the number of ventures is increasing every day. The value of the Turkish game entrepreneurship ecosystem has risen considerably. People are turning to different investments instead of houses and land. In the games sector, it is possible to export US$100 million with 10 people. It is a sector with very high added value. This sector is not only about ‘games’. There are many fields such as marketing, video, photography and handicrafts.”

After the conference, Prof. Dr. Veysi İşler answered students’ questions, shared with the participants the entrepreneurship stories of people who have achieved important things in this field, and listened to the students’ work on the Metaverse.
