Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli published a message on the occasion of “Father’s Day”.
Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli included the following words in his message:
“A father is the deep-rooted plane tree of the family. A giant plane tree that gives confidence with its presence, in whose shade one takes shelter, that stands upright under all conditions, and that gives peace with the harmonious sound of its leaves. A father is the main pillar of the family and the first hero in the lives of his children. For a small child, nothing gives more confidence than holding his father’s hand. That hand never lets go of his children throughout their lives; it protects, watches over and encourages them. He always teaches and shows them what is right, good, beautiful and virtuous.
Let us show our love, respect and gratitude to our fathers not ‘one day a year’ but at every moment. Let us always be aware of the hardships they have endured for us and the sacrifices they have made without complaining even for a day. And when they pass into eternity, let us continue to remember them in our prayers with gratitude.
I celebrate this beautiful day of all our fathers who work tirelessly for their children and do not withhold their love and compassion from them, and I pray for God’s mercy upon those who have passed to the hereafter.”
