The Silk Road Career Fair (İKAF’22), organised under the coordination of the Presidency’s Human Resources Office, with Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) as a stakeholder university and Kalyon Solar Energy Technologies Inc. (Kalyon PV) as the gold sponsor, opened its doors to young people with the theme “Talent Is Everywhere”.
HKU’s stand attracted intense interest at the fair, which aims to make university students feel that they are each a talent and to ensure equality of opportunity in employment and internships for university students in every region of the country.
The opening of İKAF’22, held at the GAÜN Mavera Congress and Art Centre, was attended by Selim Dursun, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Davut Gül, Governor of Gaziantep, Fatma Şahin, Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, rectors of the stakeholder universities, civil, administrative, judicial and public institution officials, businesspeople, private sector representatives, academics and many students.
We Are Preparing Our Students for the Business World
HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli stated that they were pleased to support, as a stakeholder university, regional career fairs that make important contributions to careers for students, graduates and the sector, and said: “Through the presentations, seminars, information sessions, trainings, workshops, interviews and interview simulations held at this fair, young people are enabled, while they are still students, to identify career fields suited to their education, interests and skills and to reach job/internship opportunities. Our Career Centre is working with all its strength to help our students plan their careers and put these plans into practice. This centre acts as a bridge between employers and our students and graduates. We care not only about the period our students spend in education, but also about their development in professional life after graduation. A large proportion of the students who graduate from our university, which has been certified with an A+ rating, start working as soon as they finish school. According to the data announced by the Presidency’s Human Resources Office, our university is among the top 20 universities whose graduates are employed the fastest.”
A plaque was presented to Banu Akdoğan, Human Resources Manager of Kalyon PV, by GAÜN Rector Prof. Dr. Arif Özaydın for its contribution to the fair as ‘gold sponsor’.
At the fair, which will last two days, Cengiz Helvacıkara, Coordinator of the HKU Kalyoncu Innovation and Technology Transfer Office, will give a seminar on the “Gaziantep BİGG TÜBİTAK Individual Young Entrepreneurship Programme”, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayaz, Director of the HKU Career Planning Application and Research Centre, on “The Secret of Career Success: Career Resources”, and HKU Lect. Suat Pınar on “How Do I Become Cabin Crew?”.
