Following evaluations of high-quality education, possession of all required academic resources and the sustainability of quality standards, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) have been accredited for 5 years by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Health Sciences Education Programmes (SABAK), which is authorised by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK).
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Hasan Kalyoncu University received 5-year accreditation at the end of an accreditation process that has been under way since 2020. With this development, HKU is among the first 10 universities whose Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Nutrition and Dietetics departments have been accredited.
Expressing his pleasure at the accreditation of the Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation departments, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli said, “The accreditations received by our departments mean that we have all the academic resources needed to provide high-quality education and that our quality standards are sustainable. The most important goal of our departments is to deliver education at international standards, with up-to-date knowledge and high quality, and to train well-equipped, successful specialists who are in command of decision-making processes in their fields. In addition, training qualified academics through our graduate education is another of our strengths. Having earned 5 years in accreditation is a clear indication and certification that we are advancing with confident steps towards excellence on our quality journey.”
Following the ceremony and speeches, accreditation certificates were presented to the Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation departments by SABAK Deputy Chair of the Board Prof. Dr. Maviş Emel Kulak Kayıkçı and Board Member Prof. Dr. Öznur Tunca Yılmaz.
