
It will be a compass for entrepreneurs and SMEs
Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), which provides mentoring and prototype support to SMEs and entrepreneurs, has been awarded a grant up to 250 thousand Euros from the EU with the latest project it has developed. Kalyon Garaj Entrepreneurship and Prototyping Center, established within the university, has provided financial support of approximately 2.5 million lira for SMEs and entrepreneurs from TUBITAK, KOSGEB and EU funds with a total of 14 projects in the last 3 years.
“Kalyon Garaj Entrepreneurship and Prototyping Center” operating under Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) has supported the business development processes of SMEs and entrepreneurs with 14 projects it has developed in the last 3 years. With the projects, approximately 2.5 million TL of financial support from TUBITAK, KOSGEB and EU funds was transferred to SMEs and entrepreneurs. Kalyon Garaj was entitled to receive funding up to 250 thousand Euros from the EU with the project “Developing Infrastructure for New Product Development and Establishing a Mentor Bridge”. The contract for the project, whose implementation period is 18 months, will be signed in January.
It will be strengthened with infrastructure investment
Under the EU’s ENHANCER program, the existing infrastructure and equipment level of Kalyon Garaj will be further enriched with the grant program coordinated by the International Migration Policy Development Center (ICMP). Center; new devices will be supplemented with expert personnel and software, and a system will be established where experienced experts working in the industry can act as mentors and consult new entrepreneurs. Thus, SMEs and entrepreneurs will receive technical and financial support by experts in their fields in their investments. In addition, 7 projects to be selected from among the projects to be presented to Kalyon Garaj will be supported during the prototype production phase. Especially the “prototyping” process, which is the most important problem faced by entrepreneurs in their new product development processes, will be carried out at minimum costs in Kalyon Garage to shorten the design and production times.
7 prototypes will be produced
HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli stated that in the pilot study of the project, new product feasibility studies will be made for 10 entrepreneurs / SMEs, and support will be given for the production of 7 new product prototypes; “With the project, the capacity of the Kalyon Garaj Entrepreneurship and Prototyping Center will be developed to support the innovative product development of local and immigrant entrepreneurs and SMEs, and then a sustainable cooperation mechanism with the real sector will be established. In addition, it is planned to include experienced mentors in the industry to support entrepreneurs and SMEs in thematic areas and to create a pool of qualified mentors with the trainings to be given. Thus, it is aimed to develop value-added products by entrepreneurs and SMEs and to contribute to regional development ”
