Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) received the admiration of visitors with its exhibition stand at the 6th Şahinbey Book Days, organized by Şahinbey Municipality under the theme ‘Life is Existence, Life is a Book,’ opening its doors to book enthusiasts for the 6th time. In the central position of the book fair, which hosted 118 publishers and 70 authors, the stand showcased publications from HKU Publishing House, along with books written by HKU academics.
The opening of the 6th Şahinbey Book Days at the Şahinbey Congress and Art Center was attended by Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Kemal Çeber, the Governor of Gaziantep, Fatma Şahin, the Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, the Mayor of Şahinbey Municipality, Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, the Rector of HKU, along with Deputy Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Lütfi Yola and Prof. Dr. Gül Rengin Küçükerdoğan, representatives of partner institutions, academics, numerous students, and citizens.
Expressing great joy in participating as a stakeholder in such a significant event and showcasing university publications to readers at the fair, Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli stated, “We will continue to support these events that encourage the reading habits of our society by bringing us together with books that open the doors to success, continually updating and improving our library collections. We extend our gratitude to all book enthusiasts who visited the fair and the HKU stand, especially our esteemed ministers and governor.
