Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Engineering Faculty Civil Engineering Department students realized the “Be Hope for Stray Animals” project they prepared as part of the Social Responsibility Projects course, and raised awareness on this issue by helping stray animals with nests and food.

Students started a social responsibility project called “Be Hope for Stray Animals” within the scope of Social Responsibility Projects course. Within the scope of the project, Civil Engineering Department students provided nests and food for stray animals that have a difficult life due to the impact of frequent housing and cold weather. In cooperation with the Cahide Association for the Protection of Street Animals, which undertakes the treatment of stray animals in Gaziantep, the students gave nest and food support to the association and fed the street animals with their hands.

WE SHOULD NOT TURN ON THE STREET ANIMALS

Students who implemented their projects within the scope of the Social Responsibility Projects course provided nest and food aid to the shelter of the “Cahide Street Animals Protection Association”, which works to heal sick and injured animals, and supported the animals to shelter more comfortably. The students had a fun time with their street friends by feeding the stray animals they helped and getting used to their new homes.

HKU Civil Engineering Department academic staff member Dr. Adem Yurtsever: “Stray animals need the same things and have the same rights as us to live. They also need a warm home, a bowl of food, water to live. Perhaps, by taking half an hour, you can make a living thing cling to life and give your love to a living thing. We learned a lot about stray animals thanks to this project, and most painful, unfortunately starving in our own streets millions of homeless animals each year in Turkey, cold, disease, dying with causes such as traffic accidents and the situation in general we remain unconcerned attitude. We should not turn his back on this situation and we should think about what we can do for street animals and do whatever we can, ”he expressed his thoughts and requests.
