Significant Contribution from HKU to the Nutrition Systems Guide of the Ministry of Health

Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Head of Nutrition and Dietetics Department Prof. Dr. Yasemin Beyhan, prepared by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey “National Public Nutrition and Menu Planning System Implementation Guide in” taking on the editorship, schools, played a major role in determining the menu of public institutions and hospitals.

Under The Ministry of Health’s, Healthy Eating and Active Life Program Adult and Preventing Child Obesity and Physical Activity Action Plan 2019-2023, universities, public institutions and organizations, with the participation of civil society organizations, “National Menu Planning and Implementation Guide in Mass Feeding System” was prepared and the Head of HKU Nutrition and Dietetics Department Prof. Dr. While Yasemin Beyhan was the editor of the guide prepared, Mehmet Uz from HKU Nutrition and Dietetics Department and Mustafa Anıl Erbağcı, Research Assistant of HKU Nutrition and Dietetics Department, also contributed to the guide with their studies.

A GOOD GUIDE FOR DIRECTING COMMUNITY TO HEALTHY NUTRITION

To explain the application principles of Mass Nutrition Systems Prof. Dr. Yasemin Beyhan: “With the guide prepared, the nutritional and nutritional requirements for the target audience will be calculated. The guide was prepared in a way to prepare menus specific to the target audience and evaluate the nutritional content of these menus, and to organize special menus (vegetarian menu, food allergies, gluten-free menu). The prepared guide is a good guide to orient the society towards healthy eating. We are proud to contribute to this guide prepared by our Ministry of Health. “I would like to thank our academics of HKU Nutrition and Dietetics Department for their contribution to this project.”

The aim of the guide is it to create menus that will allow personal healthy choices in mass consumption places; There are national menu programs for schools, institutions, nurseries and nursing homes, retirement homes, prisons, adult and children’s hospitals and workers, and special occasions and banquet menus.
