Animal Rights Law Entered the Curriculum at HKU. Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Faculty of Law included the “Animal Rights Law” course in its curriculum. The “Animal Rights Law Course”, which will be offered as an elective course to Gaziantep Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Law students, will be presented by HKU Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Dr. Ömer Özkan and it will be given by Dr. Cengiz Bayram.

Prof. Dr. Ömer Özkan: “We came to this world together with all living things. They all have a place in this world. We are not only responsible for humans, they are lives in animals and plants. We are responsible for both this nature and animals, and this period, with the celebrations of Dr. Cengiz Bayram, our faculty also opened this course. We recommend that all faculties open such courses.” Said Ömer Özkan, who gave examples to the subject by giving place to his memories, said that one of the characteristics of a good person is his attitude and behavior towards animals.

“A LIFE WITH ONLY HUMAN IS UNTKINKABLE”

Saying that the life of every living creature depends on the other creature and every living thing has a reason to take place in nature, Dr. Cengiz Bayram said, “With this lesson, we will remind people that there are other creatures in nature. A life with only human is unthinkable. Animals are also included in this habitat. We must absolutely respect both the environment and the lives of animals. Our country is no different from the European countries we call other civilized countries. There is law in our country as in every country. We believe that legislators will do a better job regarding them. We opened this lesson by saying that one is better than scratch. Our aim is to learn how to mobilize the public more easily and to raise awareness about it. “With this lesson, we will make sure that they know the law and its annexes and therefore we will mobilize the administrators.”

The first lecture on “Animal Rights Law”, in which animal rights and the purpose of the lesson are discussed, was taught at HKU Faculty of Law.
