The internationally recognized “Golden Baklava Film Academy 5th International Student Film Festival” started with film screenings and cinema workshops.
With the start of the Golden Baklava Film Festival, which has become a tradition every year by HKU, cinema lovers came together in Gaziantep. The 5th Golden Baklava Film Festival, which is open to all university students studying at home and abroad in the fictional and documentary film categories, has turned into a film festival where the contestants compete fiercely. On the first day of the film festival, the opening speeches were made by HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen, Head of HKU Communication Faculty Radio, Television and Cinema Department Prof. Dr. Bülent Küçükerdoğan and famous producer and director Prof. Dr. Dragan Milinkovic did Fimon.

Stating that they had the opportunity to open up to the global arena with the traditional Golden Baklava Film Festival, HKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen: “One of the main objectives of HKU Communication Faculty is to train entrepreneurial people in their field. When I look at the movies; exciting and promising movies. These films give the signs of the young producers of the future. They did a very valuable job to realize the Golden Baklava Film Festival, which required great patience, and I congratulate them in your presence. HKU is a young entrepreneur and innovative university. We have seven faculties. One of the primary goals of each faculty is to be an entrepreneur. One of the main objectives of HKU Communication Faculty is to train entrepreneurial people in their field. As the Faculty of Communication, which trains entrepreneurial communicators, we have a pioneering role in the region, and we try to fulfill this role. HKU has excellent teaching staff and teaching staff. In this sense, we have staff who can spread their great experiences to the students of the region and even to the international arena. Thanks to this staff and the international festivals, we have the opportunity to open up to the global arena. The future is much more important to us from now on. This festival will show us how we will position ourselves globally and I would like to thank in the presence of you Vice Dean of HKU Communication Faculty Prof. Dr. Rengin Küçükerdoğan.
“FESTIVAL TIMES ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR SOCIALIZATION”
Expressing that festival times are a very important period for socializing, Prof. Dr. Bülent Küçükerdoğan: “We expect you to meet our incoming foreign friends and prepare for the project with them. You will find and share incredible great stories. In order to open up to the world, we only need to improve our English a little. We will do the necessary courses for this. Visit our city together and watch our movies. I wish you all success, ”he said.
BILKENT UNIVERSITY WITH FAMOUS PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR DRAGAN AT HKU
Film screenings and cinema workshops took place on the first day of the Golden Baklava Film Academy. Famous Producer and Director Prof. Dr. Dragan Milinkoviç the screening of the movie “A Cup of TurkishCoffee” and a pleasant conversation about it at the workshop of Fimon was organized by Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) and was patented this year.
