Ayıntap Art Days at HKU with the Light of the East

Gaziantep Culture and Art Days, organized jointly by Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality and HN Art Consultancy; Ömer Asım Cultural Center hosted art lovers in the Historical Bath Museum and Hışvahan, which was once used as a caravanserai. HKU hosted the “Ayıntap Art Festival Art Talks” organized with the theme “The Light of the East”.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin, HKU Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen, painter Ahmet Güneştekin, Habertürk program host Veyis Ateş, curators and art lovers attended. After the exhibition, the Historical Bath Museum and Hışvahan, once used as a caravanserai, hosted art lovers.

Speaking about the Gaziantep Culture and Art Days and expressing that it is important for Gaziantep to reveal the cultural heritage with such an event, HKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen: ‘‘A different exhibition of our young artists, these young artists have been included in this exhibition with an understanding that does not break away from the local and emphasizes local elements. Among our artists is Ahmet Güneştekin, who introduced us to the world. “We, as the university, support this artistic event with all our strength,” he said.

HKU hosted the second day of the Gaziantep Culture and Art Festival, which brought art lovers together in Gaziantep and hosted many exhibitions and artists. Within the scope of the festival, which reveals the cultural heritage of Gaziantep and aims to combine past values ​​with today’s modernity; HKU Faculty Members Mehmet Vanlıoğlu and Batu Duru, Ayıntap Art Festival Curators Hayrü Nisa Taşyar and Ayşe Jaber talked about art. The speakers, who came together with HKU students, told art lovers what they were curious about art.
