
Great Success from Hkü’s Women Entrepreneurs! Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Women Academicians achieved a great success by receiving 200 thousand TL grant support with the projects they developed within the scope of the “1512 Techno-entrepreneurship Capital Program”, which TUBITAK encourages entrepreneur candidates with innovative business ideas to establish their own businesses.
At HKU, where technology-oriented studies are significantly supported for the development and dissemination of R&D and entrepreneurship culture, academicians who develop projects in addition to education and training activities have transformed their ideas into products.
Google Play Store and App Store Published the “Phobia” Application
HKU Psychology Department Res. See. Saadet Yapan’s project titled “Development of Augmented Reality Based Exposure Applications for Specific Phobias” has been awarded the Techno-Entrepreneurship Capital Support. Within the scope of the project, Augmented Reality (AR) based exposure applications are developed for cat, dog and insect phobias that can be used by mental health professionals in psychotherapy sessions. Res. See. Saadet Yapan aims to provide important solutions to the limitations encountered in traditional psychotherapy of phobias with the AR-based exposure application “PhobiAR”, which he developed with his project team consisting of academic staff of HKU Computer Engineering and Psychology department. In this context, in the project that started in 2019, the application that has digitalized the therapies of those with insect, cat and dog phobias has been published on the Google Play Store and App Store. Testing of the application is carried out with the participation of volunteers with phobias.
Sphygmomanometer Cuff Coating Machine Against Epidemic Diseases
Developing projects against viral diseases (such as COVID-19 epidemic, Swine flu, Avian flu, HIV, HCV) that are rapidly transmitted through human-to-human contact and cause worldwide epidemics, HKU Nursing Department Dr. Lecturer Aynur Koyuncu, on the other hand, achieved great success by being entitled to receive Teknogirişim Capital Support with the business idea of “Sphygmomanometer Cuff Coating Machine”. With the project team consisting of HKU Nursing Department lecturers, Dr. Lecturer Aynur Koyuncu, a member, aims to increase the safety of patients with a hygienic solution in this project they continue to develop.
