Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKÜ) organized the “Orientation 2023: Introduction to University Life Course” for the new students enrolled in the 2023-2024 Academic Year, offering a rich content range both academically and socially. This year’s orientation program took place at the Show and Art Center with a seating capacity of 3,000, where nearly 2000 new students took their first step into university life.

Speaking at the Orientation 2023 – Introduction to University Life Program, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Haluk Kalyoncu stated:

“As 2 or 4-year undergraduate or graduate students, we wish you to be active not only in your academic success but also in the fields of human sciences, social and cultural achievements, as well as in artistic and sports activities. We especially hope that you will discover your own competencies, actively participate in student communities, and increase your productivity by organizing these activities yourselves. As the poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the author of our National Anthem, who carries the love of the country and social sensitivity in his heart, said in his poem ‘Leaving Perseverance by Seeing the Future Dark’: ‘Embrace hope tightly, look around, please! Do not consent to frustration, work, Do not abandon perseverance!’ With the combination of perseverance, willpower, and hope with discipline and science, you, who will build the future in the light of science, will be the pride of our university and your families. We are proud of the growth of our HKÜ family, and I believe that the 15th year of our university in the 100th year of our Republic will be a milestone in our new leap initiatives. I wish the 2023-2024 academic year to be auspicious and wish you all success. Welcome to your university.”

Speaking at the program, Hasan Kalyoncu University Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli stated:

THE FIRST STEP INTO UNIVERSITY LIFE THAT SHAPES THE FUTURE

As part of the orientation program, which lasted for 3 days and aimed to enable new students to quickly adapt to the 2023-2024 Academic Year with its intense and high-quality scientific and social content, seminars were held by Prof. Dr. Abdulkerim Çalışkan on “The Importance of Integrating with Different Disciplines in University Life,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Enes Kala on “Looking at Life and Education with Brotherhood,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dinç on “Green Crescent Addiction Information Seminar,” Şule Taşkıran Kala on “Looking at the World with the Questions of Youth,” İnanç Ayar on “Living by Learning,” and Sinan Torum on “Career Journey.” In addition to the campus tour, new students of the HKÜ family familiarized themselves with university life through events introducing the university’s social, cultural, and academic aspects.
