Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Vocational School Director Dr. Semra Çelikli and Toros University Vocational School Anesthesia Program Officer Inst. See. Mehtap Buğdaycı the “Visual Medicine Transport Box” and it’s been accepted as an international patent and registered on behalf of Hasan Kalyoncu University.
Purpose: To Prevent Excessive or Incorrect Dose Use
The patent application for the Visual Drug Carrying Box, developed by the project team, was accepted on 28 December 2020. The “Visual Medicine Transport Box”, which is designed to prevent illiterate and especially elderly people from using incomplete or overdose of drugs, can provide daily tracking of the drugs people use regularly.
Advantages of Visual Medicine Transport Box
Dr. Lecturer Semra Çelikli: “Despite the different sizes and models of medicine transport boxes produced so far, they are generally not suitable for taking medicines in a healthy and proper way. Visual drug transport boxes; While meeting the needs of determining whether the drugs are taken more than just morning, noon, evening and night parameters, whether the drug was taken in the right time period and which drug was taken during the taking of the drugs, the writing of the patient names will prevent the wrong dose and drug intake ” .
The Difference between Drug Transport Boxes in the Market
Lecturer Mehtap Buğdaycı, explained the main difference of the Visual Medicine Transport Box from other medicine transport boxes in the market. Referring to the details of the project, Buğdaycı said: “The medicine box with the name and dose of the medicines placed in the boxes made of interlocking rail system visually and the picture of the medicine box with the image of the medicine can be changed and the wrong medication can be prevented by combining boxes with different colors. The medicine image on the changeable cover also increases the usage function of each medicine box with the unification feature. The fact that it has a rail system increases the usage function for patients using more than one medication and provides ease of transportation in one piece”.
