Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) celebrated “8 March International Women’s Day” with a meaningful event. Women academicians and students came together at the colorful event organized specially for women, writing on the women to women message board and emphasized the meaning and importance of the day.
“WOMEN’S WORLD; A LOYAL, SMILE AND BUILDING WORLD “
Attending the event held at HKU Faculty of Communication, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen, on the other hand, came together with the women and students of the university and celebrated the 8th of March, International Women’s Day. Participants wrote words on the “Messages from Women to Women” panel explaining the meaning and importance of the day for them. Edibe Sözen wrote her thoughts on paper and hung it on the board for the platform prepared for women. Expressing that the world of women is a loyal, friendly and constructive world, Sözen said, ‘As women, we will do good things. Our geography is a geography with experience of women’s civilization. We will benefit from this experience through knowledge” she said, and gave a carnation as a gift to all the women participating in the event.

Emphasizing that raising a generation would be more beautiful in a world where women are active, Sözen said: “Both our students and our university staff are mostly women. The percentage of women academics the world 50% of Turkey. With this ratio, we can see an equality of opportunity. Our women took care of the academy world. These figures show that our women must be enthusiastically involved in the world of science, research and, most importantly, decision-making mechanisms. I thank all of them very much. Raising a generation, raising a generation will be much better with the increase in the number of women in these positions. It is very important that the next generations are raised on behalf of our city, our region and of course the world. Pessimistic thoughts must disappear. I see that you are all working as pioneers in the cultural, academic field. Everything will be fine, I congratulate all working women on March 8, International Women’s Day ”.
In the colorful event organized for women, HKU Academics gave flowers to Vice Rector Edibe Sözen. The event, which featured colorful images, ended after the collective photo shoot.
