Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) hosted the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez. Minister Dönmez met with university students in the program held at HKU.
The program that brought the minister and students together: Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, HKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen, academicians, many press members and students attended.

Minister Dönmez’s first stop in HKU was the office of rector. HKU Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen hosted Minister Dönmez in her office. Sözen presented a gift to Minister Dönmez in memory of the day. Meeting with university students during his visit to HKU, Minister Fatih Dönmez had a sincere conversation with the students.
Dönmez draws attention to the importance of generating energy and storing the produced energy: ‘‘ We cannot meet the total energy need of a country with only 100% renewable energy. The important thing here is to be able to store energy. The development in actual storage technologies will have the capacity to affect the electric vehicle industry. Currently, many technological constraints have been overcome in the electric car. We will see the gap here and we will carry out the storage provided that the equipment is produced here. It is as important to manage the battery as it is to produce it. In the future, we will be able to meet the daily needs of a house. While our solar power plants were being installed at enormous costs five years ago, today they have fallen to one-fifth of that. “Productivity has increased by at least 50%,” he said.

We need our young people for the future of Turkey’s Minister Fatih Dönmez said: ” There are R & D activities in various areas of our universities. Universities need to provide coordination in the common areas where they work. Education does not end when you graduate from school, we are still learning and we will continue to learn. You can buy the knowledge, but you have no chance to buy the experience, “he advised the students.
Speaking about renewable energy in Turkey will start Ministers, answered students’ questions.
