Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli published a congratulatory message on the occasion of “November 24 Teachers’ Day”.
Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli included the following statements in his message:
“November 24th is an important date in terms of understanding the values of our teachers who educated us better and raising awareness in the society. November 24, 1928 is the day when Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, accepted the position of “Nation’s Schools Headmaster”. Since that day this day has been celebrated as “November 24”, “Teachers’ Day” every year since 1981.
Our esteemed teachers; Taking on a sacred duty and raising the future generations of our nation, they are our greatest values that build the bright future of our country by blending knowledge with love. This year, it is necessary to open a separate parenthesis for our esteemed teachers. During the challenging COVID-19 Pandemic, which deeply affected the whole world, we would like to thank all our teachers who work devotedly to ensure that our students do not experience loss in their education and training processes by using face-to-face communication as well as distance learning tools effectively.
With these feelings and thoughts, I remember with mercy and gratitude our teachers who passed away, especially the head teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and I congratulate our valuable teachers and teachers who have retired and educated our teachers and teachers on November 24 with my sincere wishes.
