Prof. Dr. Dereli, the Rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKÜ), explained the role of universities in the export ecosystem at the Export Mobilization Summit.

The ‘Turkey Export Mobilization Summit,’ organized by Turkuvaz Media Group to discuss the latest developments in the business world and exports, took place at the service building of the Southeast Anatolia Exporters’ Associations (GAİB) with the participation of Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, the Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey.

The opening of the summit, which attracted intense interest from representatives of the industrial and business world, was attended by Minister of Commerce Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, as well as Kemal Çeber, the Governor of Gaziantep, Fatma Şahin, the Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, the Rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKÜ), and distinguished representatives of the business world.

Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, the Minister of Commerce, made important and up-to-date statements directly relevant to the business world, stating that the year 2023 will close with a national income of over 1 trillion dollars and the per capita national income will rise to $12,500. Following the opening speeches and statements by Minister of Commerce Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, the summit proceeded to panel sessions.

Moderated by Feride Cem, a columnist for Sabah Newspaper, the panel titled “Turkey’s Potential and Export Financing” was attended by Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, the Rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKÜ). Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli spoke about the success of Turkey and Gaziantep in exports, the importance of sustainable exports, and the role of universities in this process. He emphasized that the business world, by utilizing the R&D capacity of universities, can develop products and services with high export potential, thereby increasing export potential. Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli also highlighted the contribution of academia in the development of systems and portals facilitating exports offered to the service of the business world, stating that universities have begun to develop solutions that can directly affect exports in recent years. He said, ‘As Hasan Kalyoncu University, we attach importance to and prioritize the goal of training the future leaders of exports. We contribute to the export ecosystem, especially in terms of sustainability and efficiency, through curriculum regulation and educational and research activities. Our university aims to train future export leaders and provide support for them to develop and implement their career plans.
