The signing ceremony of the first grant program within the scope of the ENHANCER project, funded by the European Union and carried out by the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Technology, was held.

Syrians under temporary protection in Turkey, through the means of livelihood and employment opportunities, Sustainable aims to contribute to the participation of host communities Socio-Improving Entrepreneurial Capacity for Economic Integration (ENHANCER) The signing ceremony for the project was held and the meeting was held in the framework of pandemic rules.

 

Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Dr. Çetin Ali Dönmez, Hasan Kalyoncu University Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, İpekyolu Development Agency Secretary General Dr. Burhan Akyılmaz, Head of EU Delegation to Turkey Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut and ICMPD Regional Coordinator of the Western Balkans and Turkey Tamer Kılıç and representatives of other institutions that have applied for a grant and become entitled to receive funds attended to the signing ceremony which was held in the Gaziantep Zeugma Museum.

The opening speech of the meeting was made by the International Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Coordinator of the Western Balkans and Turkey Tamer Kılıç, had share detailed information regarding to the ENHANCER project.

The duration of the project is 18 months and the Budget Approximately is 280 thousand Euros

After the opening speeches, the institutions that were awarded to get grants shared their presentations about their projects with the participants. Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), which was among the institutions that were entitled to receive grant support in Gaziantep, has signed a project that will strengthen the infrastructure of the “Kalyon Garaj Entrepreneurship and Prototyping Center”.

HKU Kalyoncu Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (KALİTTO) Coordinator Cengiz Helvacıkara, who gave information about the project at the signing ceremony of the first grant program within the scope of the ENHANCER project, said: We are currently conducting studies. In this context, we set up a project to take the activities of the Kalyon Garaj Entrepreneurship and Prototyping Center, which we previously established with the financial support of our Ministry of Industry and Technology and İpekyolu Development Agency. The general purpose of our project is to support Turkish and Syrian entrepreneurs and SMEs to develop new products, to establish a sustainable bridge mechanism and to ensure the commercialization of the products that will come out of this mechanism, ”he stated that the project province is Gaziantep, the project duration is 18 months and the project budget is approximately 280 thousand Euros.
