The Pride of HKÜ In Swimming Sport Becomes Turkey Champion

Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) Fine Arts and Architecture Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design 4th grade student, Merve Durdu, Osman Çullu won gold medal in the free Physically Disabled 50 meters Swimming category Championship and became the Turkey champions.

GOLD AND SILVER MEDAL WINS THROUGH HUB TO THE BARRIERS

Turkey Physically Disabled Sports Federation Championship which was organized by the Süleyman Demirel University on October 29 held competitions in the Olympic Swimming Pool, it joined 135 athletes from 44 clubs. Merve Durdu, the pride of HKU in swimming, battered in three different categories in the competition where 135 competitors had a fierce struggle. Durdu, who knocked over the obstacles with his strokes, achieved a great success by coming first (gold medal) in the 50-meter freestyle category, second (silver medal) in the 100-meter butterfly category and fourth in the 100-meter freestyle category.

Stating that there is no need to take shelter in excuses to do sports, successful swimmer Merve Durdu: “The real obstacle is not lack of arm and leg, but lack of conscience. As long as you want to succeed, that success always finds you. I hope I continue to do the best by working even more regularly. This championship will also select athletes in the European Championship to be held in 2020. I will also work hard to be one of these athletes. I would be very proud to represent my university in Europe.
