GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR RESEARCH AND RESEARCHERS IN THE HEALTH FIELD

Speaking at the opening of the program, HKU Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli stated that conducting innovative and applied research, supporting and encouraging these studies are essential parts of the university’s vision. He mentioned that the University’s Research Project Support Unit provides support for qualified R&D studies with all the facilities available. Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli emphasized the importance of finding the right external sources for university R&D projects at the right time and in sufficient amounts. At this point, especially in the field of health, TÜSEB comes into play. He highlighted that TÜSEB provides significant support to many important projects in the field of health, contributing greatly to the realization of these projects. He expressed his gratitude to TÜSEB President Prof. Dr. Erhan Akdoğan for his participation and collaboration.

TÜSEB IS FOCUSED ON THE HEALTH FIELD

TÜSEB President Prof. Dr. Erhan Akdoğan said, “It is crucial for you to develop and present methodologies in your field. We need to go from idea to product because today’s science is tomorrow’s technology. We must convert our ideas into products. In Turkey, we need to conduct scientific research to increase competitiveness in the field of health science and technologies, advanced technology development and innovation studies, product conversion and commercialization, and to implement or coordinate the decisions taken by the Presidency regarding health, science, and technology. In doing all these, we have a leading institution, namely TÜSEB. Our three missions are; conducting R&D, supporting R&D, and transforming value. We focus on one issue, which is health,” he said.

WE DEFINITELY WANT OUR STUDENTS TO DEVELOP A PROJECT

The organizer of the program, Head of the Nursing Department Prof. Dr. Ayla Yava, in her welcome speech, said, “To reduce our country’s dependence on foreign countries in the health technology sector, especially from our postgraduate students and academicians, we expect qualified projects in health care. For this purpose, we have added the ‘project development’ course to our curriculum in the Nursing Main Science Department. Within the scope of this course, we want our students to develop a presentable project. In our country, we have institutions that support qualified projects like TÜSEB, and we aim to benefit from the opportunities provided by these institutions,” she said.

After the speeches, Biomedical Engineer Mehtap Sert informed the participants about the TÜSEB Project Cycle and Evaluation Processes.

TÜSEB President Prof. Dr. Erhan Akdoğan and his accompanying delegation visited the campus after the program and experienced the campus before visiting Rector Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli in his office.
